Āraiši Church

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Āraiši is a special and significant object in the landscape of Āraiši, nestled on the shore of Lake Āraiši opposite the Āraiši Lake Castle. The church is still a gathering place for the congregation, the organ is still played on Sundays, and the people of the community are baptised, married and gather together to remember those who have passed away. The walls of the church have a special aura, so people from near and far come to listen to both ancient Gregorian chants and Baroque sacred music. Every Sunday from 11:00 to 13:00, there is a church service. In season we are open daily from 8:00 to 20:00, in the autumn-winter months it is advisable to make an appointment.
